Based on our personal suggestions for things to do during your stay, some of our guests have almost completed all items!

Annesley Haus At The Bay
Follow one of the walking trails along the Esplanade, walk each of the jetties, fish on the tide, swim or build sandcastles at Scarness beach

Play on the swings under the Cottonwood trees, have a BBQ at any one of the numerous designated areas along the foreshore and city parks

Visit the Bat rookery, just a short walk along the esplanade to the left.
Watch the nightly bat migration, at sundown, and count how many are in the sky, is it 500 million, as our grand-daughter thinks.  Bats are more numerous in the summer. Please don't chase them during the day, as they get confused.  Why do they hang upside down?

Go Whale Watching, (seasonal), tour buses will collect you from the Esplanade
Look for turtles, dugong, dolphins and pelicans

Listen to the crimson rosellas when they roost in the trees along the Esplanade,
spy a possum in the Torquay parks.

Have an ice-cream from one of the many shops along the Esplanade, The Great Ice-creamery is our favourite.

Have fish and chips in the balmy summer evenings, along the Esplanade

Go snorkelling over the reef, or take the glass bottom boat.
Much of the coral on this end of the Great Barrier Reef, is Brain coral.

Go fishing on a charter, or catch whiting off the beaches

Visit World Heritage Fraser Island, the biggest sand island in the world.
Does it rain every day somewhere on Fraser Island?

Take a plane trip to Fraser Island, it is stunning from the air, planes land on the beach.

Visit the Historical Museum in the next street, Zephyr Street it has some great displays.

Have breakfast and lunch or coffee and cake at one of the many coffee shops on the Esplanade, or relax, and enjoy the view from the bar at the Beach House hotel at Scarness.

Attend a concert in the Scarness Park.  Is the ambulance wheel still running?

Visit Gatakers Bay, and watch the magnificent sunset over Pt Vernon.

Visit the Marina, watch the boats, relax over a coffee or meal.

Visit the Urangan Boat Club or the Hervey Bay RSL for pokies and entertainment.

Visit the Library and some of the many displays regularly on show

Visit the Botanic Gardens, under the cool of the shady trees, or visit the orchid house in the grounds.

See the world of sharks through Vic Hislop's eyes.

Walk along the Urangan pier, when was it shortened in size, become as one with living history.

Enjoy the atmosphere and ambience of either the Bayswater or Salt Restaurant at Peppers Resort at Urangan

Walk the dog, and let them swim at the off-leash beach (4.00pm  - 8.00am)

Catch the beautiful sunset from our front courtyard as well as the bat migration

Enjoy the fragrance of our frangipannis

Visit the weekly markets in one fo the many different locations

Have a massage, relaxing or remedial.  Bookings essential (Physikal)

Take in a movie at the Hervey Bay Cinema

Take advantage of the exercise facilities along Torquay beach, hire a yacht, jet-ski or other aqua sports.

Ride a family bike along the 20km level pathway from Pt Vernon to Urangan

Sample the fine local seafood, buy your supplies from the Boat Harbour outlets

Visit the Information centre on the Hervey Bay-Maryborough Road

Go shopping at one of the many retail theraputic centres.

Read a book, there are plenty in our library, we don't mind if you take one, just leave us one as a replacement

Hire a DVD from Civic along Torquay Terrace, Tuesday is $1 deal day

Watch your favourite sport on Austar, feed our fat fish

Swim in the Council pool, with wading pool at Boundary Road

Take the children for a swing at the "Captain's Park", (Rotary Park), so named because the swings go really high here, my grandchildren assure us of that

Visit the rock pools near the Pines, look out for little crabs

Be sure to enjoy some time at the Purple Playground

Visit the Underwater Aquarium at Urangan

Visit Dayman's Park Memorials to the Z-Force of WW2

Take a camel ride along the beach at Scarness

Get fit on the many pieces of exercise equipment located along the esplanade

Join the locals at one of the many yearly festivals

Sky dive, take a helicopter ride over Hervey Bay, go para-gliding or jet sking
(not for us mind you)  Have a picnic on Pelican Island

Visit the sea-eagles nest at Pt. Vernon, you might be lucky to see a baby

Discover the interesting pandanas palms

Find a brolga, or kangaroos

Build a sandcastle 

Ride the go-karts.

Climb the really, really high water slide at Torquay, then have a game of mini golf.

But we really don't want you to leave without enjoying the Water Park.


Then we recommend you travel to Maryborough on a Thursday for their markets and firing of the cannon.

Not forgetting Historic Childers and a visit to the Snake farm

Or Bundaberg, with the Rum Distillery, Bargara Beach and turtle nesting at Mon Repos

On the way back stop in at Howard, Torbanlea, Burrum Heads and Toogum

Get up close with the kangaroos in the wild amonst the housing estates at Toogum

Have a picnic at Dundowran, the beach is beautiful with white sand.  Think back to 1964 when whales beached themselves on the beach.
